Ohio High School Basketball - Salem holds off Girard
January 3, 2023: Girard, OH 44420 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Salem Quakers (Salem, OH) and the host Girard Indians (Girard, OH), saw Salem's basketball squad hold off Girard by a tally of 54-50.
With the victory, Salem improves its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Quakers travel to Marlington (Alliance, OH) to confront the Dukes in a Eastern Buckeye challenge on Friday, January 6. The Dukes come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Marlington lost 46-37 in their recent non-league challenge against John Marshall (Glen Dale, WV)
Next up, the Indians confront the Jefferson Area Falcons (Jefferson, OH) in a Northeast 8 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Girard will attempt to improve on its 7-2 season record. The Falcons come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 57-56 non-league win over Lakeside (Ashtabula, OH).
