January 3, 2023: Winona, MS 38967 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Humphreys County Cowboys (Belzoni, MS) and the host Winona Tigers (Winona, MS), saw Humphreys County's basketball squad knock off Winona by a tally of 57-43.
With the victory, Humphreys County improves its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Cowboys host J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS) to play the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 6. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 0-6. J.Z. George lost 70-31 in their recent non-league challenge against New Albany (New Albany, MS)
Next up, the Tigers play the Yazoo County Panthers (Yazoo City, MS) in a 3A Region 3 challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Winona will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 88-51 non-league loss to Louisville (Louisville, MS).
