Kentucky High School Basketball - Monroe County tops Russell County
January 3, 2023: Russell Springs, KY 42642 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monroe County Falcons (Tompkinsville, KY) and the host Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), saw Monroe County's basketball squad knock off Russell County by a count of 79-66.
With the victory, Monroe County upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Falcons host Campbellsville (Campbellsville, KY) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 5. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 5-4. Campbellsville lost 45-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Southern (Louisville, KY)
Next up, the Lakers play the Marion County Knights (Lebanon, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 5. Russell County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 0-9 record after their 59-44 non-league loss to Caverna (Horse Cave, KY).
