Illinois High School Basketball - Rock Island nips Peoria
January 3, 2023: Peoria, IL 61604 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Rock Island Rocks (Rock Island, IL) and the host Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL), saw Rock Island's basketball squad hold off Peoria by a count of 60-58.
With the victory, Rock Island upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Rocks travel to Quincy (Quincy, IL) to play the Blue Devils in a Western Big 6 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 12-2. Quincy lost 57-53 in their recent non-league challenge against MacArthur (Decatur, IL)
Next up, the Lions play the Peoria Notre Dame Irish (Peoria, IL) in a Big Twelve challenge, on Friday, January 6. Peoria will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record.
