Tennessee High School Basketball - Bearden holds off Alcoa
January 3, 2023: Alcoa, TN 37701 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Bearden Bulldogs (Knoxville, TN) and the host Alcoa Tornadoes (Alcoa, TN), saw Bearden's basketball squad hold off Alcoa by a tally of 34-33.
With the victory, Bearden improves its record to 16-0 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Maryville (Maryville, TN) to confront the Red Rebels in a 4A District 4 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Red Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 4-6. Maryville lost 60-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Spring Valley (Huntington, WV)
Next up, the Tornadoes confront the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders (Gatlinburg, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 6. Alcoa will attempt to improve on its 11-1 season record. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 67-27 non-league win over Beech (Hendersonville, TN).
