Iredell Dragons (Iredell, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Walnut Springs Hornets (Walnut Springs, TX), 60-27 in a league bout.

With the win, Iredell upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Dragons travel to Covington (Covington, TX) to play the Owls in a 1A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, January 6. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Covington lost 53-18 in their recent league bout against Meridian (Meridian, TX)

Next up, the Hornets play the Hill County Wolves (Hillsboro, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Walnut Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.
