Washington High School Basketball - Lewis & Clark nips University
January 3, 2023: Spokane, WA 99204 Lewis & Clark Tigers (Spokane, WA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting University Titans (Spokane, WA), 53-50 in a league bout.
With the win, Lewis & Clark upgrades its record to 3-7 on the campaign. The Tigers host North Central (Spokane, WA) to confront the Wolfpack in a 2A/3A/4A Greater Spokane challenge on Friday, January 6. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a record of 2-2. North Central lost 77-41 in their recent league challenge against Gonzaga Prep (Spokane, WA)
Next up, the Titans confront the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups (Spokane, WA) in a 2A/3A/4A Greater Spokane challenge, on Thursday, January 5. University will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Bullpups come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 77-41 league win over North Central (Spokane, WA).
Game Summary
Lewis and Clark would get out to an early 2-0 lead over the University Titans with a rebound attempt and put back up by #32 Brooklyn Jenson. Jenson would commit a foul at the 4:43 mark of the first quarter which would put the Titans at the line for the first time in the game where #24 Sophie Carbajal went 1 for 2 at the line to cut into the LC lead by 1. Getting ready to head into the 2nd quarter the LC tigers found themselves in a 12-19 hole.
