West Virginia High School Basketball - Brooke nips John Marshall
January 3, 2024: Wellsburg, WV 26070 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Brooke Bruins (Wellsburg, WV) and the visiting John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV), saw Brooke's basketball squad hold off John Marshall by a tally of 43-38.
With the victory, Brooke improves its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Bruins travel to Weir (Weirton, WV) to play the Red Riders in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 5. The Red Riders come into the challenge with a record of 2-5. Weir lost 49-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Patriot Prep Academy (Columbus, OH)
Next up, the Monarchs play the University Hawks (Morgantown, WV) in a Ohio Valley AAAAA challenge, on Friday, January 5. John Marshall will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 78-58 non-league loss to Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, CA).
