December 8, 2023: Wheeling, WV 26003 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV) and the visiting John Marshall Monarchs (Glen Dale, WV), saw Wheeling Park's basketball squad wallop John Marshall by a count of 71-35.
With the victory, Wheeling Park upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Patriots host Teays Valley Christian (Scott Depot, WV) to play the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 9. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 5-1. Teays Valley Christian won 77-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Calvary Baptist Academy (Hurricane, WV)
Next up, the Monarchs play the Magnolia Blue Eagles (New Martinsville, WV) in a Freelance challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. John Marshall will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Blue Eagles go into the test with a 0-1 record after their 62-61 non-league loss to Ritchie County (Ellenboro, WV).
