Texas High School Basketball - La Vega can't hold off LaPoynor

January 3, 2024: Waco, TX 76705

The LaPoynor Flyers basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the host La Vega Pirates to 53 in the Flyers non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Flyers now sport a 13-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grandview for a non-league contest on Friday, January 5. LaPoynor will battle a Zebras team coming off a 62-54 non-league loss to Itasca (Itasca, TX). The Zebras record now stands at 10-10.

The Pirates (11-4) will now prepare for their contest against West (West, TX). The Trojans come into the non-league contest with a 5-9 record. In their last contest, West was nudged by Italy (Italy, TX), 60-56, in a non-league contest.
