Illinois High School Basketball - Mater Dei tops Althoff Catholic

Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Mater Dei Knights (Breese, IL) and the visiting Althoff Catholic Crusaders (Belleville, IL), saw Mater Dei's basketball squad knock off Althoff Catholic by a count of 52-37.

With the victory, Mater Dei upgrades its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL) to play the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 6. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 16-1. Quincy Notre Dame won 54-18 in their recent league challenge against Beardstown (Beardstown, IL)

Next up, the Crusaders play the Triad Knights (Troy, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Althoff Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 10-7 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 9-8 record after their 50-44 league loss to Jersey (Jerseyville, IL).
