Missouri High School Basketball - Elsberry can't hold off Monroe City
January 3, 2024: Elsberry, MO 63343 The Monroe City Panthers basketball team scored 38 points and restricted the host Elsberry Indians to 36 in the Panthers non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Panthers now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clark County for a Clarence Cannon contest on Friday, January 12. Monroe City will battle a Indians team coming off a 58-34 non-league loss to Macon (Macon, MO). The Indians record now stands at 4-7.
The Indians (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against Van-Far (Vandalia, MO). The Indians come into the Eastern Missouri contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, Van-Far was nudged by Harrisburg (Harrisburg, MO), 43-40, in a non-league contest.
