In Wednesday's league challenge, the visiting Monterey Trail Mustangs basketball squad scored a close 65-61 victory over the River City Raiders.

With the victory, Monterey Trail improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to McClatchy (Sacramento, CA) to confront the Lions in a challenge on Friday, January 5. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 1-4. McClatchy lost 76-23 in their recent non-league challenge against Folsom (Folsom, CA)
