In Friday's league contest, the host Clarksdale Wildcats basketball team scored a close 65-60 triumph over the New Hope Trojans.

The Wildcats (7-10) will now prepare for their contest against West Point (West Point, MS). The Green Wave go into the 5A Region 1 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, West Point was tipped by Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 63-37, in a league contest.
