Texas High School Basketball - Denver City triumphant over Compass Academy
January 3, 2025: Denver City, TX 79323 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Denver City Mustangs (Denver City, TX) and the visiting Compass Academy (Odessa, TX), observed Denver City's basketball team overwhelm Compass Academy by a score of 59-38.
The Mustangs (14-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lamesa (Lamesa, TX). The Tornadoes come into the 3A Region I District 3 challenge with a 1-15 record. In their last challenge, Lamesa was routed by Brownfield (Brownfield, TX), 65-37, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the encounter the Kermit Yellow Jackets (Kermit, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Compass Academy will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a 4-10 record after their 62-52 non-league loss to Reagan County (Big Lake, TX).
