The Salem Sundevils (Virginia Beach, VA) basketball edged the visiting Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans (Chesapeake, VA), 83-82 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Sundevils now possess a 2-5 record. They play next when they host Kellam for a Beach bout on Tuesday, January 7. Salem will play a Knights team coming off a 62-34 non-league win over Phoebus (Hampton, VA). The Knights record now stands at 9-0.
