In Friday's league contest, the host Catawba Ridge Copperheads basketball team scored a close 32-30 triumph over the Northwestern Trojans.

The Copperheads (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Lexington (Lexington, SC). The Wildcats go into the non-league contest with a 7-2 record. In their last contest, Lexington nipped Fort Mill (Fort Mill, SC), 60-53, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Clover Blue Eagles (Clover, SC) in a AAAAA Region 3 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Northwestern will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record.
