The Grants Pirates basketball squad (Grants, NM), was nudged 44-38 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM)

With the victory, Del Norte advances its record to 2-6 on the year. The Knights travel to Cibola (Albuquerque, NM) to meet the Cougars in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. The Cougars enter the battle with a record of 4-3. Cibola lost 48-45 in their recent non-league battle against Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM)

The Pirates now own a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rio Grande for a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. Grants will meet a Ravens squad coming off a 33-27 non-league loss to Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM). The Ravens record now stands at 1-7.
