Georgia High School Basketball - Dougherty sneaks past Monroe

January 3, 2025: Albany, GA 31705

The Dougherty Trojans basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting Monroe Golden Tornadoes to 67 in the Trojans league triumph on Friday.

The Trojans now possess a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Peach County for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. Dougherty will play a Trojans team coming off a 63-33 non-league loss to Warner Robins (Warner Robins, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Monroe falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Golden tornadoes travel to Cairo (Cairo, GA) to play the Syrupmakers in a AAA Region 1 game on Tuesday, January 7. The Syrupmakers go into the game with a record of 0-6. Cairo lost 52-35 in their recent non-league game against Thomasville (Thomasville, GA)
