In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Liberty Patriots basketball team scored a close 51-50 win over the Roosevelt Rough Riders.

The Patriots (7-7) will now prepare for their contest against Independence (Bakersfield, CA). The Falcons come into the non-league contest with a 6-6 record. In their last contest, Independence edged Foothill (Bakersfield, CA), 54-30, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Rough Riders battle the Sacramento Dragons (Sacramento, CA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Roosevelt will attempt to better on its 13-2 season record. The Dragons come into the contest with a 10-4 record after their 61-48 league win over Vacaville (Vacaville, CA).
