Virginia High School Basketball - Gate City thwarts John Battle
January 3, 2025: Bristol, VA 24202 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) and the host John Battle Trojans (Bristol, VA), observed Gate City's basketball team knock off John Battle by a score of 43-24.
The Blue Devils (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals come into the non-league challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Lee prevailed over Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA), 61-23, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Trojans encounter the Lebanon Pioneers (Lebanon, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. John Battle will attempt to improve on its 0-6 season record.
