The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV) and the host Yerington Lions (Yerington, NV), observed Pershing County's basketball team knock off Yerington by a score of 51-38.

The Mustangs (9-1) will now prepare for their challenge against North Tahoe (Tahoe City, CA). The Lakers come into the challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, North Tahoe was knocked off by Yerington (Yerington, NV), 54-32, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the West Wendover Wolverines (West Wendover, NV) in a challenge, on Friday, January 10. Yerington will attempt to improve on its 9-1 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 54-3 league win over Silver Stage (Silver Springs, NV).
