Virginia High School Basketball - Rural Retreat toppled by Rye Cove
January 3, 2025: Clinchport, VA 24244 Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA), 55-35 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Rye Cove upgrades its record to 1-3 on the year. The Eagles travel to Patrick Henry (Glade Spring, VA) to face the Rebels in a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. The Rebels enter the match with a record of 2-2.
The Indians now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Honaker for a non-league bout on Friday, January 10. Rural Retreat will play a Tigers team coming off a 46-31 non-league win over Northwood (Saltville, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.
