The New Iberia Yellowjackets ran past the visiting Lafayette Lions basketball team by a final score of 58-38 in Monday's league game.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets face the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 game, on Friday, February 3. New Iberia will attempt to move on its 22-1 season record. The Golden Tors enter the game with a 20-5 record after their 52-48 league win over Carencro (Lafayette, LA).

With the defeat, Lafayette moves to 9-8 on the year. The Lions host Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA) to face the Broncos in a 5A District 3 game on Tuesday, January 31. The Broncos enter the game with a record of 11-9.
