Starpoint Spartans (Lockport, NY) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Williamsville East Flames (East Amherst, NY), 64-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Starpoint upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The Spartans travel to Iroquois (Elma, NY) to play the Chiefs in a Section 6 Erie County II bout on Wednesday, February 1. The Chiefs go into the bout with a record of 8-6. Iroquois lost 55-53 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Shore (Angola, NY)

Next up, the Flames play the Amherst Central Tigers (Amherst, NY) in a Section 6 Erie County II bout, on Wednesday, February 1. Williamsville East will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 78-54 non-league win over Lockport (Lockport, NY).
