Alabama High School Basketball - Brantley tops Houston County
January 30, 2023: Brantley, AL 36009 Brantley Bulldogs (Brantley, AL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Houston County Lions (Columbia, AL), 42-23 in a league bout.
With the victory, Brantley upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Elba (Elba, AL) to play the Tigers in a 1A Area 2 bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 18-6. Elba lost 46-44 in their recent non-league bout against Samson (Samson, AL)
Next up, the Lions play the Emmanuel Christian Warriors (Dothan, AL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. Houston County will attempt to upgrade on its 0-8 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 0-19 record after their 50-15 non-league loss to Wicksburg (Newton, AL).
