January 30, 2023: Irene, SD 57037 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Wagner Red Raiders (Wagner, SD) and the host Irene/Wakonda Eagles (Irene, SD), saw Wagner's basketball squad wallop Irene/Wakonda by a tally of 71-28.
With the victory, Wagner improves its record to 13-1 on the campaign. The Red Raiders host Hanson (Alexandria, SD) to confront the Beavers in a A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Beavers come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. Hanson won 72-23 in their recent non-league challenge against Bridgewater/Emery (Emery, SD)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Howard Tigers (Howard, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 31. Irene/Wakonda will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 13-3 record after their 58-36 non-league win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland (Ramona, SD).
