South Dakota High School Basketball - Wagner can't hold off Vermillion
January 14, 2023: Vermillion, SD 57069 The Vermillion Tanagers basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the visiting Wagner Red Raiders to 52 in the Tanagers non-league victory on Saturday.
The Tanagers now sport a 11-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Elk Point-Jefferson for a A Region 4 contest on Tuesday, January 17. Vermillion will battle a Huskies team coming off a 54-19 non-league win over McLaughlin (McLaughlin, SD). The Huskies record now stands at 5-4.
The Red Raiders (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ethan (Ethan, SD). The Rustlers come into the non-league contest with a 5-1 record. In their last contest, Ethan edged Bridgewater/Emery (Emery, SD), 60-24, in a league contest.
