South Dakota High School Basketball - Hamlin thwarts Vermillion
February 4, 2023: Hayti, SD 57241 The Hamlin Chargers (Hayti, SD) basketball knocked off the visiting Vermillion Tanagers (Vermillion, SD), 51-34 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Chargers (16-0) will now prepare for their test against Deuel (Clear Lake, SD). The Cardinals go into the A Region 2 test with a 4-12 record. In their last test, Deuel went down by Sioux Valley (Volga, SD), 65-35, in a league test.
The Tanagers now own a 16-1 record. They play next when they host Dakota Valley for a A Region 4 test on Tuesday, February 7. Vermillion will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 76-41 non-league win over Tiospa Zina (Agency Village, SD). The Panthers record now stands at 6-10.
