New Mexico High School Basketball - Maxwell edges Wagon Mound
January 30, 2023: Maxwell, NM 87728 The Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM) basketball nipped the visiting Wagon Mound Trojans (Wagon Mound, NM), 38-34 in Monday's league test.
The Bears (7-13) will now prepare for their test against Roy/Mosquero (Roy, NM). The Blue or Lady Blue go into the A District 5 test with a 17-2 record. In their last test, Roy/Mosquero got by Springer (Springer, NM), 47-23, in a league test.
The Trojans now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to Springer for a A District 5 test on Thursday, February 2. Wagon Mound will encounter a Red Devils squad coming off a 47-23 league loss to Roy/Mosquero (Roy, NM). The Red Devils record now stands at 14-4.
