The Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) basketball knocked off the host Notre Dame Catholic Lancers (Fairfield, CT), 48-36 in Monday's league test.

The Nighthawks (12-2) will now prepare for their test against Pomperaug (Southbury, CT). The Panthers go into the Southwest - Patriot test with a 13-2 record. In their last test, Pomperaug notched a victory over New Milford (New Milford, CT), 62-43, in a league test.

The Lancers now own a 7-8 record. They play next when they travel to Stratford for a non-league test on Thursday, February 2. Notre Dame Catholic will encounter a Red Devils squad coming off a 48-35 league loss to New Fairfield (New Fairfield, CT). The Red Devils record now stands at 5-10.
