Tennessee High School Basketball - Grainger holds off Claiborne
January 30, 2024: Rutledge, TN 37861 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Grainger Grizzlies (Rutledge, TN) and the visiting Claiborne Bulldogs (New Tazewell, TN), saw Grainger's basketball squad hold off Claiborne by a tally of 66-60.
With the victory, Grainger improves its record to 8-10 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Greeneville (Greeneville, TN) to confront the Greene Devils in a 3A District 2 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Greene Devils come into the challenge with a record of 10-8.
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Hancock County Indians (Sneedville, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Claiborne will attempt to improve on its 10-8 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 0-15 record after their 79-50 league loss to Cosby (Cosby, TN).
