January 30, 2024: Naugatuck, CT 06770 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Ansonia Chargers (Ansonia, CT) and the host Naugatuck Greyhounds (Naugatuck, CT), saw Ansonia's basketball squad hold off Naugatuck by a tally of 49-44.
With the victory, Ansonia improves its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT) to confront the Falcons in a Naugatuck Valley - 1 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 13-2. St. Paul Catholic lost 64-36 in their recent league challenge against Holy Cross (Waterbury, CT)
Next up, the Greyhounds confront the Derby Red Raiders (Derby, CT) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 2. Naugatuck will attempt to improve on its 2-14 season record. The Red Raiders come into the challenge with a 1-15 record after their 84-34 non-league loss to Wolcott (Wolcott, CT).
