North Carolina High School Basketball - Mattamuskeet tops Ocracoke
January 30, 2024: Ocracoke, NC 27960 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mattamuskeet Lakers (Swan Quarter, NC) and the host Ocracoke Dolphins (Ocracoke, NC), saw Mattamuskeet's basketball squad knock off Ocracoke by a tally of 37-26.
With the victory, Mattamuskeet improves its record to 1-11 on the campaign. The Lakers host Pungo Christian Academy (Belhaven, NC) to play the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 13-10. Pungo Christian Academy lost 41-24 in their recent league challenge against Ridgecroft (Ahoskie, NC)
Next up, the Dolphins play the Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, NC) in a 1A Atlantic 5 challenge, on Friday, February 2. Ocracoke will attempt to improve on its 1-13 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 63-47 league loss to Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC).
