Wisconsin High School Basketball - Johnston can't hold off Mercer
January 31, 2022: Mercer, WI 54547 The Mercer Tigers basketball team scored 54 points and restricted the visiting Johnston Speedboys to 48 in the Tigers non-league victory on Monday.
The Tigers now sport a 1-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Washburn for a Indianhead contest on Tuesday, February 1. Mercer will battle a Castle Guards team coming off a 58-53 league win over Mellen (Mellen, WI). The Castle Guards record now stands at 3-7.
The Speedboys (4-7) will now prepare for their contest against L'Anse (L'Anse, MI). The Purple Hornets come into the Western Peninsula contest with a 4-6 record. In their last contest, L'Anse edged Ontonagon (Ontonagon, MI), 58-55, in a league contest.
