New Mexico High School Basketball - Tohatchi tops Thoreau
January 31, 2022: Thoreau, NM 87323 Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), 71-63 in a league bout.
With the victory, Tohatchi upgrades its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to play the Eagles in a 3A District 1 bout on Tuesday, February 1. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 8-7. Navajo Prep won 67-37 in their recent league bout against Zuni (Zuni, NM)
Next up, the Hawks play the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, February 1. Thoreau will attempt to upgrade on its 8-11 season record. The Skyhawks come into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 70-34 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM).
