Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Avonworth thwarts East Allegheny
January 31, 2023: Pittsburgh, PA 15237 The Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting East Allegheny Wild Cats (North Versailles, PA), 78-59 in Tuesday's league test.
The Antelopes (8-10) will now prepare for their test against Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA). The Quakers go into the WPIAL 4A 4 test with a 11-5 record. In their last test, Quaker Valley notched a victory over West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA), 60-47, in a league test.
The Wild Cats now own a 2-14 record. They play next when they travel to Montour for a WPIAL 4A 4 test on Friday, February 3. East Allegheny will encounter a Spartans squad coming off a 53-49 league loss to South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 6-13.
