North Carolina High School Basketball - Madison ripped by Avery County

January 31, 2023: Newland, NC 28657

The Avery County Vikings basketball team scored 55 points and held the visiting Madison Patriots to 34 in the Vikings league triumph on Tuesday.

The Vikings now sport a 7-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rosman for a 1A/2A Conference 42 contest on Thursday, February 2. Avery County will meet a Tigers team coming off a 74-53 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 18-4.

The Patriots (2-19) will now prepare for their contest against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks enter the non-league contest with a 8-11 record. In their last contest, North Buncombe was routed by T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC), 57-48, in a league contest.
