The Cape Fear Colts basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Douglas Byrd Eagles to 17 in the Colts league triumph on Tuesday.

The Colts now sport a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Jack Britt for a 3A/4A Conference 22 contest on Friday, February 3. Cape Fear will battle a Buccaneers team coming off a 68-29 league win over Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 16-5.

The Eagles (1-21) will now prepare for their contest against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates enter the 3A/4A Conference 22 contest with a 6-12 record. In their last contest, Lumberton triumphed over Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC), 53-22, in a league contest.
