The Westwood Panthers basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the visiting Elkhart Elks to 41 in the Panthers league victory on Tuesday.

The Panthers now sport a 7-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Groesbeck for a 3A Region III District 20 contest on Friday, February 3. Westwood will battle a Goats team coming off a 58-29 league loss to Teague (Teague, TX). The Goats record now stands at 4-27.

The Elks (10-15) will now prepare for their contest against Fairfield (Fairfield, TX). The Eagles come into the 3A Region III District 20 contest with a 30-2 record. In their last contest, Fairfield edged Mexia (Mexia, TX), 71-19, in a league contest.
