January 31, 2023: Merryville, LA 70653 The Merryville Panthers routed the visiting Gueydan Bears basketball team by a final score of 67-4 in Tuesday's league game.
In their next game, the Panthers face the Basile Bearcats (Basile, LA) in a 1A District 5 game, on Friday, February 3. Merryville will attempt to move on its 8-7 season record. The Bearcats enter the game with a 1-14 record after their 65-14 league loss to East Beauregard (DeRidder, LA).
With the defeat, Gueydan moves to 2-8 on the year. The Bears host Elton (Elton, LA) to battle the Indians in a 1A District 5 contest on Friday, February 10. The Indians come into the contest with a record of 15-11.
