January 31, 2023: Norton, VA 24273 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) and the host J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), saw Eastside's basketball squad wallop J.I. Burton by a count of 54-21.
With the victory, Eastside upgrades its record to 16-4 on the campaign. The Spartans host Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA) to play the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 10. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Thomas Walker lost 44-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA)
Next up, the Black Raiders play the Twin Springs Titans (Nickelsville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 3. J.I. Burton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 44-11 non-league win over Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA).
