January 31, 2024: Opelousas, LA 70570 In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Northwest Raiders basketball team scored a tight 57-55 triumph over the Southside Sharks.
In their next game, the Raiders meet the Iota Bulldogs (Iota, LA) in a 3A District 4 match, on Friday, February 2. Northwest will attempt to better on its 16-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the match with a 17-4 record after their 71-54 non-league win over Highland Baptist Christian (New Iberia, LA).
With the defeat, Southside moves to 14-12 on the year. The Sharks host Comeaux (Lafayette, LA) to meet the Spartans in a 5A District 3 match on Friday, February 2. The Spartans enter the match with a record of 10-11. Comeaux won 48-40 in their recent league match against Barbe (Lake Charles, LA)
