In Friday's league outing, the Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) basketball squad edged the host New Iberia Yellowjackets (New Iberia, LA), by a margin of 32-29.

The Sharks (18-13) will now prepare for their outing against Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA). The Broncos go into the 5A District 3 outing with a 16-14 record. In their last outing, Sam Houston was tipped by Iowa (Iowa, LA), 63-51, in a non-league outing.
