In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Franklin County Eagles basketball team scored a good 53-37 triumph over the Halifax County Comets.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) in a Blue Ridge match, on Friday, February 2. Franklin County will attempt to move on its 9-9 season record. The Colonels enter the match with a 14-4 record after their 49-40 league win over Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA).
