The Gunnison Cowboys basketball squad (Gunnison, CO), was nudged 60-53 in Friday's league battle with the host Grand Valley Cardinals (Parachute, CO)

With the victory, Grand Valley advances its record to 7-10 on the year. The Cardinals host Meeker (Meeker, CO) to meet the Cowboys in a 3A Western Slope battle on Saturday, February 1. The Cowboys enter the battle with a record of 3-10. Meeker lost 66-37 in their recent league battle against Roaring Fork (Carbondale, CO)

The Cowboys now own a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cedaredge for a 3A Western Slope battle on Saturday, February 1. Gunnison will meet a Bruins squad coming off a 58-52 league loss to Grand Valley (Parachute, CO). The Bruins record now stands at 3-9.
