The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Valencia Jaguars (Los Lunas, NM) and the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), observed Valencia's basketball team overcome Highland by a score of 54-35.

The Jaguars (15-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Chaparral (Chaparral, NM). The Lobos come into the non-league challenge with a 7-12 record. In their last challenge, Chaparral defeated Hatch Valley (Hatch, NM), 61-20, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Hornets battle the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Highland will attempt to improve on its 12-9 season record. The Sartans come into the challenge with a 12-7 record after their 41-31 league loss to Valencia (Los Lunas, NM).
