The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) and the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), observed Mountain Heritage's basketball team edge Avery County by a score of 33-27.

The Cougars (5-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers come into the non-league challenge with a 5-0 record.
