Virginia High School Basketball - Auburn overwhelms Fort Chiswell
January 4, 2022: Max Meadows, VA 24360 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) and the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), saw Auburn's basketball squad wallop Fort Chiswell by a tally of 66-38.
With the victory, Auburn improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Altavista Combined School (Altavista, VA) to confront the Colonels in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 7. The Colonels come into the challenge with a record of 6-2. Altavista Combined School won 71-57 in their recent non-league challenge against Battle (Bristol, VA)
Next up, the Pioneers confront the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Friday, January 7. Fort Chiswell will attempt to improve on its 10-2 season record. The Maroon Tide come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 47-43 league win over Grayson County (Independence, VA).
