Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Elk County Catholic nips Punxsutawney
January 4, 2023: Punxsutawney, PA 15767 Elk County Catholic Crusaders (St. Marys, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Punxsutawney Chucks (Punxsutawney, PA), 31-29 in a league bout.
With the victory, Elk County Catholic upgrades its record to 8-1 on the campaign. The Crusaders host DuBois Central Catholic (DuBois, PA) to play the Cardinals in a Allegheny Mountain - Southern battle on Friday, January 6. The Cardinals come into the battle with a record of 6-3. DuBois Central Catholic lost 62-37 in their recent league battle against St. Marys (St. Marys, PA)
The Chucks (1-6) will now prepare for their battle against Brookville (Brookville, PA). The Raiders come into the District 9 battle with a 7-2 record. In their last battle, Brookville edged DuBois Central Catholic (DuBois, PA), 47-26, in a non-league battle.
